Opening of a new display celebrating Bruton’s close links with R. D. Blackmore’s Lorna Doone and Conan Doyle’s Micah Clark, two classic Victorian novels set in Somerset at the time of the battle of Sedgemoor (1685), followed by an illustrated talk by historical novelist, Gary Kearley.

Gary Kearley is a local historian, co-author of Secret Frome (2019) and author of Fear Nothing But God – a novel based upon his extensive research into the Monmouth Rebellion.
